TOP 5 WAYS TO SURVIVE CUFFING SEASON.. when you aren't being cuffed.

Ahh, cuffing season. One of the many phenomenons of our generation. After the summer, the days get shorter, the leaves start falling, and the temperature drops. Before you know it, your social feeds are flooded with new relationship pics. As eye-roll inducing as this may be, it’s hard to find your self without a boo as the winter approaches. But, lucky for you, I’ve found myself in this position for many seasons. I guess you can say I’m a veteran!

Here’s my survival guide:

  1. KEEP BUSY. A reason people find themselves in relationships in the fall is because social events simmer down. This can mean lots of boring nights at home for those who are single this season. So, get a part-time job, take up a new hobby, or make weekly dinner plans with other single friends. Anything to keep you busy and boredom free!

  2. BOOK A MID-WINTER GETAWAY. Grab your friends and book a trip somewhere warm. Having a girls (or guys) only getaway instantly takes away the single blues! Last year, I lost count of how often I said “I want a boyfriend… after my Miami trip”. LOL, priorities!

  3. HIT THE GYM. The biggest downside to a new relationship is all the “love weight” you put on. New couples love to go out to eat or stay home watching Netflix. Instead, use your free time hitting the gym and staying in shape for when the weather gets warm (and for your mid-winter getaway).

  4. BRING EXTRA WINE TO THANKSGIVING DINNER. Honestly, this will just help you drown out the “Why are you still single”? type of questions from your aunt.

  5. ENJOY YOUR ALONE TIME. Last year, during the winter, I mastered the art of relaxation time. Buy a salt lamp, a few face masks, a good candle, and find a good series to binge. My recent favorite is Animal Kingdom cause the guys on that show are hottttt.

And, it’s as simple as that! I hope you feel ready to take on #cuffingszn. Until next time!
